As of August 2021, The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan holds no effective control of the country, rebels and local militaries may be hostile to foreigners, specially Americans. RECONSIDER all travel to Afghanistan, until the national government resumes territorial control. VISAS are a legal requirement to visit Afghanistan for nationals of certain states. Request a VISA using the links below. DONT keep physical or virtual copies of said VISA during your stay in Afghanistan, if seen by non-state actors, you risk violence and death. There is NO foreign consular support for citizens of most nations, foreigners may be subject to arbitrary detention and torture. As a precaution, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan WILL NOT issue VISAS to American Citizens. We invite you to take all of the above into consideration before you travel to Afghanistan.

The Blue Mosque

Historic Religious Complex and Cultural Landmark of Afghanistan, Renovated in 2016, the Mosque serves as one of the most important religious hubs of our country.

Ruins of the Buhdas of Bamyan

Historical worship site, legacy of the Buhdist religion and settlers. Located in the City of Bamyan, the original buhdas are believed to have been carved around the 6th century, they were destroyed in 2001 by non-state forces.

Entry into Afghanistan

Turkmenistan-Afghanistan Land Crossing

Tourists may enter Afghanistan from the Turkmen-Afghan border crossing. Turkmen inmigration officers may require to stamp your passport on exit. Take into consideration that this land crossing is controlled by non-state forces, thanks to this, availability, and the security/scrutiny in the crossing can be unpredictable. DO NOT show Afghanistan VISAS to local militias, or risk death.
